Some of us get a little curious about the stuff that kpop idols use, and some of those things are the stuff they use in their homes like scented candles. If you’re an avid fan, it’s not surprising you may want your home to smell like what makes your favorite idol’s home smell good too. Below is the list of candles your favorite Kpop idols are burning.
Just a heads up, A LOT of them are from the brand Yankee Candle! And they’re all from boy groups. I think girl groups are more private. Even with perfumes, I have a hard time researching what they use.

1. Yankee Candle Midsummer’s Night (Several Idols)
This is one of Yankee Candle’s popular scents, that is why I am not surprised a lot of Kpop idols like this too. This was spotted in Seventeen Mingyu’s vlog, Seventeen Jeonghan’s Livestream, NCT Ten’s Relay Cam, and Hyunjin’s post. Bangchan also showed this in one of his Chanie’s Room livestreams. Though the latter covered the brand name, Yankee’s recognizable jar and the candle’s color made it obvious what kind of scented candle he was using in his studio.
I own one too. Bought it because the name reminds me of Shakespeare. Midsummer’s Night does smell like a dream. It is powdery and fresh with hints of berries. It is good and relaxing, perfect for sleeping or relaxing in your room for some downtime. This candle is also affordable. It costs $30 at Kohl’s and depending on the size, it costs around ₱530-₱2200 on the Yankee Candle Shopee page.
2. Yankee Candle Clean Cotton – NCT Doyoung
I believe this was seen in one of Doyoung’s livestreams. This is also one of Yankee Candle’s best-selling scents. It is described as smelling like “sun-dried cotton combined with green notes, white flowers, and a hint of lemon.” This is available in Target, and in the Philippines, this is available on Yankee’s official Shopee and Lazada pages for ₱536 – ₱2,289.
3. Yankee Candle Beach Walk – Seventeen Joshua
This was seen on the table near Joshua in Seventeen Vlive Update (210628). This smells like refreshing salt water and sea musk warmed with sunny notes of tangerine and orange blossom. You can buy this for $30 at Target. While in the Philippines, it is currently sold out on Yankee Candle’s official Shopee and Lazada pages but I found one in Zalora for ₱998.
4. Lola James Harper 22 The Joshua Hong Han River Walk
This candle is the inspiration for why I wrote this article about the candles your favorite Kpop idols are burning. Joshua of Seventeen showed in a Vogue interview a Lola James Harper room spray that he uses as a perfume. Now, the brand created a candle inspired by him. 22 The Joshua Hong Han River Walk is currently on my wishlist so I can’t write a little review about it yet. But according to Lola James Harper’s website, it has a “green scent of matcha, a dry scent of wood, and some musk to express the freshness and openness that surrounds JOSHUA.” You can buy this in the Lola James Harper online for €64.
5. Yankee Candle Pink Sands – Seventeen Wonwoo & NCT Ten
This is one of the best-selling Yankee Candles too and was also spotted in NCT Ten’s Relay Cam. And it seems like Yankee Candles are popular among Seventeen members because this was also spotted in Wonwoo’s PC room. There’s even a side-by-side photo with Mingyu’s Yankee Candle.
This is currently in my cart, but I haven’t decided when I will checkout. According to some reviews I’ve read this smells floral and sweet like bubblegum but not overpowering. You can buy this at Kohl’s for $30 and depending on the size it costs around ₱536 – ₱2,289 in Yankee Candle Shopee and Lazada pages.
6. Yankee Candle Black Cherry – Strays Kids Hyunjin
Yes, another Yankee Candle and yes, it was seen on Stray Kids Hyunjin’s post too. I am not interested in adding this to my collection because the scent is too strong for my liking. It smells like candy and cherry. You can buy this in Yankee Candle online for $31. This is also available in Yankee Candle Shopee and Lazada pages for ₱536 – ₱2,289.
7. Yankee Candles (again) – Strays Kids Seungmin
I swear this is the last Yankee Candles on this list. On the left side, Seungmin was holding the Smoke Vanilla & Cashmere scent. I couldn’t find the same size he has but Zalora sells a huge jar for ₱1,998. Another Yankee Candle he owns (as seen in the same video) is a Black Tea & Lemon scent that is also available in Zalora for ₱2,289.
Seungmin is also known to use another Yankee Candle, the Soft Blanket, which was mentioned in my previous article about their perfumes. This is available on Yankee Candle Shopee and Lazada pages for ₱2,289.
8. Diptyque Feu De Bois – BTS Suga
The Diptyque Feu De Bois in 600g was spotted in Suga’s Instagram stories when he shared some photos of his studio. I also have this in my collection, but the 190g only (it’s an expensive candle).
It smells like firewood and musk. The scent feels relaxing when you work late at night or when the weather is cold. You can buy this in Diptyque online for £168. This is also available in Rustan’s department store and their online store for ₱12,150.00 (600g like the one seen in Suga’s IG story) and ₱3,900 for 190g.
9. Diptyque Baies – BTS V
On Haley’s Road To Manic (Episode 5), she gave each member of BTS a gift. V received a Diptyque Baies and revealed it was his favorite candle. The Baies is one of the most popular candles (and even room spray) of Diptyue. It smells sweet like mixed berries but not overwhelming. You can buy this in Diptyque online for £56. This is available in Rustan’s too for ₱2,550.
10. Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin – Exo Xiumin
This is Baekhyun’s housewarming gift to Xiumin when they visit his new house. If you’ve ever been to Korea and visited niche fragrance stores, you’ll notice scents like this are very popular with them: woody with a hint of lime. This candle is currently sold out on the Jo Malone Lazada’s page, only the diffuser is available. But the same big size is available in Zalora for ₱5,744. You can also buy this from Jo Malone online starting from $80.
11. Bath & Body Works Fiji White Sands – Exo Baekhyun
Speaking of Baekhyun, he will have his first solo Concert Tour soon and he is also on this list. The Bath & Body Works Fiji White Sands candle he showed in one of his livestreams has a new packaging. I haven’t smelled this candle yet (I tend to avoid BBW because its scent is too overwhelming for me), but according to their website, it smells sweet and bright like a beach day. It has notes of fresh-cut sugarcane, white nectarine, and sandalwood. You can buy this for ₱500 in Bath & Body Works Philippines.
12. Cire Trudon Abd El Kader Candle + Memory Lane Candle Warmer Lamp – NCT Jaehyun
I must say, Jaehyun has exquisite taste. He showed his Cire Trudon Abd El Kader Candle in one of his vlogs. And he confirmed in a Japanese magazine interview that be bought both the candle and diffuser because he likes the scent. According to the Cire Trudon website, it is a green scent of fresh mint, the rashness of fights, ginger’s hot and peppered air, and the perfume of tea and tobacco from the Ouled Nail tribe. In short, like Moroccan Mint Tea. You can buy this candle in Moda Operandi Global starting at $125 for the smallest size. In the Philippines, I only found this Malaysian-based Shopee reseller that sells it for ₱4,000-8,000.
Another one shown in the same vlog is the black Memory Lane Candle Warmer Lamp. I also have one of these from the same brand. It is one of my best lockdown purchases! I have bougie candles I’ve been using for four years now thanks to it. I also noticed that you can smell the candle’s scents more and fills the room better than burning them.
