The Japanese skincare experts believe that you don’t need to exfoliate your skin regularly if you double cleanse every day. Double cleansing helps to remove all the dirt in your skin and helps make it smoother and plumper. To those who are not familiar with it yet, it is the method where you washed your face twice with 2 different cleansers. The first one is usually a cleansing oil which I find the most gentle yet very effective in removing waterproof makeup and sunscreens since some people are too sensitive for micellar water while cleansing wipes cause unnecessary tugging and friction on the skin. WHAT IS IT?
The Commleaf Skin Relief Cleansing Oil is made with a nourishing blend of plant-based oils, it is designed to give a deep, thorough cleanse without aggravating your skin.
Ingredients: Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sorbeth-30 Tetraoleate, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Limnanthes Alba (Meadowfoam) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil.
PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: As the first step of your double cleanse, take one or two pumps of product and massage it into a dry face for about 10-15 seconds. Rinse face with water afterwards.
SCENT: It smells like any other facial oil but with a hint of very mild citrus.
PACKAGING: It comes in a plastic pump bottle.
TEXTURE & FORMULA: In my other cleansing oil review, I mentioned there how important to choose a cleansing oil with thin formula because they can penetrate your skin more deeply to cleanse it and remove sunblock, makeup, and dirt. And this is much thinner than the Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleanser! And this one also emulsifies, meaning they turn like a little milky when wet and easy to wash off.
MY EXPERIENCE
I wear sunscreen every day (I use either Cell Fusion or Dr. Jart+ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment) and so I do really oil cleanse EVERY SINGLE night. The Commleaf Skin Relief Cleansing Oil is quite easy to wash off even if you don’t have warm water or a warm towel because it emulsifies. I never broke out from it thanks to its nourishing ingredients. And even though I have oily skin, it never made my skin oilier. This is a common misconception with oil cleansers, just because someone has oily skin, it doesn’t mean they don’t need it. I am telling you, as an oily girl, we need them because they help make our skin much cleaner from all the gunk our skin absorbed throughout the day and also remove those stuff we put like makeup and sunscreen.
Overall, I’ve tried other products as good as this before but the difference between the Commleaf Skin Relief Cleansing Oil and those is that they are not easily available in the Philippines.
