Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream Review

purito sea buckthorn vital 70 cream review

I will now introduce a product that is so versatile, the most versatile I ever used, I could probably mix it with any products in my stash but I prefer to use this after the Purito Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence or mix it with Purito Pure Vitamin C Serum (review will be posted next week). Curious? Scroll down to read my Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream review.

But first, what is a Sea Buckthorn?

Sea Buckthorn or Hippophae comes from sour orange berries that grow naturally in parts of Europe and Asia. Russians use it to treat a variety of skin ailments years before it became an up and coming beauty ingredient. It is also known to reduce illness from cancer treatment, radiation damage, and balance the immune system, seriously, I had no idea this ingredient is amazing when I chose this product. I’m so glad I did.

But when it comes to skincare, the Sea Buckthorn is said to be highly anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and has a high amount of antioxidants. It’s a nutrient that both keeps the wrinkles and the pimples away. Studies done on buckthorn oil have yielded high results in proving that it is essential in skincare.

WHAT IS IT?

Purito Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream contains up to 70% extracts of the fruit sea buckthorn, which have Vitamin C of up to 2000mg. It is helpful for soothing tired skins and protects it from exterior pollution and vitalize it. You can read more about its ingredients in CosDNA Analysis.

This is recommended for people who want light, not heavy texture, and intensive whitening care. Has concerns about blemishes and darkening, and wants a shiny and clear skin.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION:  Since this product can be paired with many other beauty products, it has many uses: oil-control, exfoliating, tone-up, and my fave, removing blemishes. So after cleansing my face, I prep my skin with a low pH toner and then followed by the Galacto Niacin 97 Power Essence, and instead of applying a layer of Pure Vitamin C Serum, I prefer to mix it equal parts of the Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream that will end my night time routine. Why? Well, I love/hate thing with Vitamin C serums because they all feel tacky on the skin (I haven’t found one yet that isn’t) but when I mix it with this cream, it doesn’t feel that much tacky. And it is said that you can get the best result through the synergy.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a tube that resembles toothpaste packaging but I like creams packaged in styles like this because it’s more hygienic and easier to travel with. It also comes in a signature Purito brown box with a detailed label.

SCENT: It has a slight citrus scent that won’t bother even the person with the most sensitive nose.

TEXTURE: Its texture actually reminds me of the Huxley Fresh Cream & More because it kinda resembles it. It doesn’t feel thick, it’s like a mix of a little cream and gel. Most importantly, it doesn’t leave a white cast.

RESULT: I use this not only when I use my other two Purito products, but I also use this too with other serums too like from Kiehl’s. I love that it is lightweight and absorbs quickly into my skin without feeling sticky. And it does really suit sensitive skin, that is why many Skincare Influencers are raving about this product, not just me. The tone-up effect is real too and it’s not temporary unlike some products like Tony Moly White Massage Pack. But I really find it works best with Vitamin C serums. Look at my result when I after 3 weeks:

VERDICT

PROS: It is lightweight and absorbs well into the skin without a sticky feeling. The brightening effect is not temporary, it becomes permanent in long-term use. And I guess the exfoliating claim is real too because after 3 weeks of my Purito skincare routine my skin looked smoother and fewer blemishes.

CONS: It feels a little warm in the first few minutes upon applying which is normal on products with Vitamin C.

I only chose the Sea Buckthorn Vital 70 Cream because I followed the routine posted on Purito’s website to remove blemishes, but I didn’t expect this will be my favorite among the products I got.
