I am not really picky when it comes to body scrubs. My favorite is the Human Nature Volcanic Cooling Body Scrub only because it is cooling and feels so refreshing (it lasts after the shower) for a usually hot weather of my country. But since it’s getting really cold nowadays, I refrained from using it. Luckily, Wishtrend sent me a tube of Jungle Botanics body scrub that I have been eyeing for weeks. But is it good? Read my Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub review below to know more.
WHAT IS IT?
Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub is a body scrub that gently exfoliates and purifies the skin. It contains finely ground walnut shell granules and various natural oils from the jungle which is mild for the skin. It is non-irritating and recommended for those with body acne and wants a glowy skin.
If you’re not yet familiar with Jungle Botanics, that’s because it’s still a new brand but it is cruelty-free and vegan-friendly.
Round-cut Nutshell Granules
This aids the removal of dead skin cells and other skin impurities by attracting them, making this body scrub ideal of sensitive skin. Walnut shell granules are made from 100% walnut shells, which are biodegradable, thus lowering ecological footprint.
Energetic Jungle 10-Oils
Cacao seed butter, which ensured the skin health of Amazonian tribes for many centuries, combined with ten different natural oils extracted from various Amazonian plants intensely moisturize your skin. This special combination of natural oils claims that it will leave your skin feeling moisturized and smelling seductively sweet.
APPLICATION: Squeeze moderate amount of product onto wet skin and massage in circular motion. Rinse thoroughly with water. Recommended use: 2-3 times a week.
SCENT: I love the scent of this body scrub, it smells sweet like caramel and it can last for a few hours after a shower.
PACKAGING: It comes with a 250ml squeeze tube with metallic packaging that feels like it is from the jungle. I prefer my body wash and scrubs packaged like this because you can cut it in half to scrape all the product inside.
TEXTURE: Since it is made of a nutshell, I was expecting the scrubs to be a little bit big like the infamous St. Ives Acne Control Apricot Face Scrub but it isn’t. At first glance, the nutshell granules look like ordinary grains of sand. And it does feel like sane, specifically the very fine sands of Boracay and the sandbar of Caramoan that feels good on the skin.
RESULT: The first time I used the Jungle Botanics Natural Body Glow Nutshell Scrub I felt regret… for not trying this body scrub much earlier! The very fine scrubs mix with the caramel-like cream feels really nice on the skin. It is not abrasive at all, unlike most scrubs so it will not hurt your body acne instead it will gently exfoliate your skin.
And the scent! It’s so sweet yet subtle enough not to irritate a “scentsitive” nose seriously, I look like a crazy person smelling my arms every other minute the first time I used this body scrub. Lastly, the body glow claim. Well, it will not make your skin glow like a bronzer but thanks to the gentle exfoliation, it helps to make your skin brighter than usual.
PROS: The scrubs are not abrasive so it will not hurt or irritate your body acne (if you have), it feels like the fine sands of the famous beaches of the Philippines. It also smells like caramel that lasts after a shower and effectively exfoliates your skin for a more glowy look.
CONS: I honestly don’t see any cons.
