These masks are created with premium ingredients that are really interesting. But are they effective? Scroll down to read my Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer review.
WHAT IS IT?
The Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer comes in two editions, Rose and Green Tea. Both are 10-second, 2-in-1 cleanser pack that showcases real, fresh ingredients and incorporates them into a system that allows a deep, clarifying cleanse while boosting the skin with nutrients and goodness.
INGREDIENTS
The Rose Edition is made with French rose petals and extracts handpicked once in a year which refines the skin and will give your skin a gorgeous glow within 10 seconds. While the Green Tea Edition contains pristine Jeju green tea leaves and extracts to purify and soothes skin for a healthy complexion. Both are Alcohol-Free, Sulfate-Free, and Paraben-Free. PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: On dry skin, apply a relatively thick layer and leave on for 10 seconds, yes! Only 10 seconds NOT 10 minutes. Because these daily wash-off masks are powerful so Althea suggests using this for that short time only, but gentle enough for daily use. And then add on a little bit of water and very gently massage in circular motions before rinsing off with water.
The Rose Edition is recommended to be used in the morning because protects and balances the pH level of the skin, evening out the skin texture for better makeup application. While the Green Tea Edition is recommended for nighttime because the skin cell regeneration is more active at night and the green tea boosts the skin’s natural regeneration process by ensuring the skin is purified and ready to rest.
SCENT: The Rose Edition smells really like roses and resembles the Victoria Secret Angel Dream Perfume. While the Green Tea Edition smells like herbs, not exactly green tea or matcha but it is soothing. It also resembles the Neogen Real Fresh Green Tea Cleansing Stick’s scent but much milder compared to that.
PACKAGING: Both Althea Real Fresh Skin Detoxer are packaged with rubberized transparent tubes rather than a jar compared to other facial masks. I like this kind of packaging more because it’s more hygienic, no need for a scoop and it’s easier to dispense the product directly on your hands for application. Both also come with an individual box with a minimalist design with an illustration of each main ingredients.
TEXTURE: Both have a gel-like consistency which is a little transparent. The Rose Edition is a little yellowish-pink with tiny bits of petals, while the Green Tea Edition is green (obviously) with tiny bits of the leaves as well. Both those tiny bits are really soft so it will not hurt your skin and eyes.
RESULT: I’ve been using both of these wash-off masks for a total of six days. When I first used the Green Tea Edition, I like that it has a mild scent and my skin feels smoother and moisturized after using the 10-second mask. It’s the same result when I use the Rose Edition, but I wasn’t a fan of the scent. It feels strong for my taste. Another thing I have observed, powerful masks with cleansing benefits like these tend to make my oily skin feels dry or a little itchy, but in my six days of using these products, it didn’t happen! But
Honestly, I did not follow the recommended morning and evening use. I find the Rose Edition suits those with normal to dry skin, especially those that really suffer from dry skin. While the Green Tea suits those with oily/acne-prone skin like mine, and also those with sensitive skin. Thus, I often use the Green Tea Skin Detoxer, even in the morning. It really soothes my skin after a long day consists of stressful road traffic.
UPDATE AUGUST 8, 2018:
I am using the Green Tea Edition with the Purito Centella Green Level Calming Toner, and after a week and a half of using, my skin look improved especially those with pimples and fungal acne.
VERDICT
PROS: It really cleanses the skin without leaving it dry. It also leaves the skin feels smooth. It contains fresh premium ingredients that you could actually see.
CONS: I honestly don’t see any cons besides the Rose scent which is a personal bias because I don’t like rose scents at all.
