Mental health and why we’re all in this together nowadays.

Your mental health is very important as we know it affects every element of life, from your connection with family to your job, colleagues, and friends. If to think about your daily things like sleep, energy, mood, and even intelligence depend on it. Finally, as we know, constant stress can also be a reason for physical illnesses, such as gastritis or migraine.

They say ‘there is no health without mental health, and we completely agree. To help with day-to-day stress and challenges, we asked Olga Ramora (a founder of the Moonly app, which provides digital well-being support for more than 4M people around the world) to give us some tips to boost it.

Meditate

More than 3000 scientific studies indicate the benefits of daily meditation. Studies have involved Buddhist monks who have spent thousands of hours in meditation and beginners who practice meditation just for 5-10 minutes each day. In addition to relieving stress, meditation helps to unwind, focus, relieve anxiety, and improve concentration, as well as relax the nervous system.

In the Moonly app, you can find more than 50 meditations in different languages. It helps one to establish calm and balance in one’s emotional and mental state.

Meditation also works to encourage a state of peace and overall well-being. Meditation is a deliberate action to exist now and detach the self from stressors that can be overwhelming.

Gratitude

Researches suggest that acts of giving and kindness can help improve your mental well-being by:

  • creating positive feelings, especially with your beloved ones
  • giving you a feeling of purpose and self-worth
  • connection and communication with other people
  • meditating – there are many meditations on this topic

Also, you can make small acts of kindness towards other people – if you have time, you could try things like volunteering in your local community or helping your neighbor’s pensioners.

There are many ways how to work with gratitude, but one easy and good way is to keep a gratitude journal every single day. Just 5-7 minutes for yourself – write down small moments that today you are grateful for. Try to list 5 to 8 points. It could be your morning routine, a sport, a chat with a friend, or even a compliment from a colleague. You can also make use of a mental health planner.

Please remember that when it comes to adopting new habits, it’s generally more helpful to start with just something small at a time instead of a dozen new tasks, which will stress you more. Then, check in with yourself – does it help you or not? Be patient and do everything step by step.

Listen to the Herz Sounds

We have already heard that sound healing therapy is one of the top wellness trends nowadays. And that’s true – it has been practiced for hundreds of years to realign the body’s vibration and improve emotional well-being. And, in general, mental health issues.

How does it work? Healing sounds provide the brain with a therapeutic escape to recuperate and harbor more positive thought processes. Healing sounds work to instill a feeling of restoration both physically and mentally. Just listen every day for 5-10 minutes and check your feelings after.

Talk to someone

We know that it’s easy to say but quite difficult to do – but try to speak about your feelings to a friendly face, such as a counsellor Brisbane. If you have worries about that – it is normal. Sharing your feelings with someone who cares (it’s hard to believe) – is one of the most effective ways to calm your nervous system. That’s exactly what you need, no matter how big your problems are or how sensitive you are.
