Natalia Aksyonova: How Excellent Ethics and Professionalism Made Her Business the Frontrunner of Syndey Beauty Industry

Natalia Aksyonova

Natalia Beauty is a Sydney-based cosmetic tattoo studio frequented by women of different ages, backgrounds, and budgets. However, they all have one thing in common – the love for natural beauty and immaculate cosmetic work. And that’s exactly what Natalia Aksyonova, the founder and principal artist of the studio, has been continuously providing for her clients for over a decade.

In an honest, heartfelt conversation, Natalia shares her vision of beauty business ethics, her professional philosophy, and her personal success story.

Since early childhood, Natalia dreamed of becoming a doctor and saving people’s lives. This dream, together with Natalia’s strong determination, prompted her to receive comprehensive medical education and training at home and spend several years working in an ER as a registered nurse. “Saving people’s lives is as tough and, at the same time, rewarding as it sounds. I cannot begin to tell you how much I’ve grown to appreciate the gift of life in the time I spent in an emergency room. This experience has made me the person and professional I am today.”

When Natalia moved to Germany from Eastern Europe, she went on to study medical camouflaging – covering scars, skin pigmentation, and the traces of past surgical interventions. As a medical professional, Natalia found deep value in helping people preserve both health and beauty through medical camouflaging procedures. “For a person recovering from an accident or a health condition, medical tattooing can be a life-changing step towards wellness and happiness”.

In 2009, Natalia moved to Sydney, Australia, to start a new life chapter. Natalia shifted her focus entirely to aesthetic medicine and received training and qualifications in beauty therapy and cosmetic tattooing. When asked about what prompted her to go down that road, Nalatia confesses:

My first months in Australia were harsh. I didn’t know how to apply myself or where to land career-wise. The only thing I was sure about was that I love working with people, and I want to make their lives better and more fulfilling. My close friends encouraged me to start a business that would make it possible to turn this love into a life-long career. That’s how Natalia Beauty came into being.

Natalia saw that the Australian niche of cosmetic tattooing was barely filled and set out to deliver aesthetic services Sydney had never experienced before. Since she didn’t have a wide social or professional network as a newcomer in Australia, Natalia had to work days and nights to build her business from the ground up.

Today, Natalia Beauty is the championing semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo studio in Sydney. It employs modern aesthetic technology and cutting-edge methods to provide a natural, long-lasting result to clients. Natalia uses such techniques as micro-blading, shading/powder brows, lip blushing, and stardust eyeliner, as well as more complex procedures like post-melanoma lip reconstruction. Her advanced tattooing approach is safe and gentle for any skin type.

What makes Natalia’s studio stand out from the crowd is not only exceptional service quality but also her professional mission:

To me, cosmetic tattooing is not a whim or superficial self-tuning. It is, first and foremost, a means to help a person improve their quality of life and build self-confidence. That’s why I receive so many clients with a history of medical conditions that affect one’s appearance. It is cancer patients, people with alopecia, or those who have been in a car accident. Cosmetic tattooing can help them restore their natural look and feel beautiful again. This is the biggest value I am striving to bring to clients in my work.”

Indeed, Natalia’s philosophy is based on integrity and an ethical approach to aesthetics. Her cosmetic work is natural and subtle yet transformative for her clients. As a regular practice, Natalia performs reconstructive nipple tattoo work for breast cancer patients absolutely free of charge.

Beyond that, she helps both younger and older women to maintain their natural beauty and accentuate it in general. She recalls a recent case of serving a 98-year-old Japanese client who wanted to look great for her 73-year-old daughter’s birthday. Natalia underlines that, unlike many other aestheticians, she is always open to working with older clients. She knows the specifics of pigment interaction with aging skin and applies her expertise to provide excellent results to women of all ages and needs.

No doubt, Natalia inspires deep trust in her clients and approaches every person coming to her studio with genuine care:

I love myself and appreciate my feminine beauty, but I love my clients even more. That’s why I give them the best aesthetic advice and my honest opinion before any procedure. As a medical professional, I will never go against my consciousness and perform a cosmetic tattoo if I am not 100% convinced it will make my client’s life better for the years to come. At the same time, as an artist – and cosmetic tattooing is a form of art – I may advise a client against a tattoo if their request doesn’t suit their facial proportions or highlight their natural aesthetic.

Natalia’s work ethic and top-quality service have made her an outstanding cosmetic tattoo professional in the Australian beauty industry. Her studio sets the bar high for other niche professionals and promotes a more conscious, emphatic, and responsible outlook on beauty services. Besides, Natalia Beauty is famous for its exclusive selection of materials – Natalia performs cosmetic tattooing with high-quality German pigment she has selected for its safety and durability.

On top of that, Natalia is a lifelong learner who continues to master new skills, update her expertise, and discover new medical aesthetic technologies. At the moment, Natalis is particularly deep into chemistry studies – she is determined to learn everything there is to know about how skin interacts with various tattoo pigments. No surprise, she is preaching the importance of solid medical education for beauty industry workers:

When I see aestheticians without a profound medical background, it makes me question the quality of their skills. After all, cosmetic procedures are a huge responsibility for any professional – we change people’s faces and bodies, we transform their looks and self-perception, and we perform interventions of various scales. Would you trust with all of that and rely on a person with a three-week online course certificate? It is always a frustrating experience to have to fix the poor work of an unqualified aesthetician. That’s why excellent qualifications and educational background are my top priorities when it comes to choosing beauty workers to join my team.

Today, Natalia’s studio is a thriving temple of health and natural beauty where clients come to stay. Natalia is also passing her knowledge and expertise to other beauty industry professionals, teaching them the intricacies of cosmetic tattooing and encouraging young aestheticians to grow and treat their work responsibly. Upon extensive training, Natalia continues to support her protégés to make sure they establish a solid independent beauty practice. She emphasizes that she doesn’t want to expand her business into a chain of studios in the near future. “The boutique approach to business allows me to maintain exceptional service and give every client the personal touch they deserve.

Yet, Natalia is not the one to stand still. She is looking to keep delivering value to her clients, continue to receive new skills and certifications, and expand the list of available aesthetic procedures in her studio. Her path is directed toward redefining the idea of cosmetic tattooing and its role in beauty and health.
