wands for wildlife

You Can Donate Your Used Mascara Wands to Help Save the Wildlife!

Recycle & Save Wild Lives!

Please don’t throw away your old mascara wands, instead, gather them and donate to help save wild lives. Because a wildlife rehabilitation nonprofit in Western North Carolina –Appalachian Wildlife Refuge– have this initiative called “Wands For Wildlife Wandraiser” which they recycle old mascara wands to help remove fly eggs and larva from the fur of animals. They work great because the bristles are so close together and gentle to use on the injured and orphaned wild animals receiving care.

But before mailing them, make sure to wash the wands in warm soapy water to remove residual mascara. And then mail the old wands inside a Ziploc bag with the Recycle Form, and your donations to P.O. Box 1211, Skyland, NC 28776Take note, please check the postage and packaging requirements at your local post office.

Although, due to the overwhelming amount of donations they’ve been receiving, the Wildlife Refuge now only accepts wand donations on the months of October and February.

Keep your old mascara wands and clean them so you can donate them in October or February.

But there are also hundreds of orphans in the facility during the spring baby season, and there is an urgent need for funds and supplies. So if you can donate those too, that will be great. Just look at those furry babies’ faces! Can you resist them?! Please help to save them.

All the funds go towards helping the animals and supporting the wildlife rehabilitation network.
