I Tried BLACKPINK Lisa’s Moonshot Beauty Products

Moonshot Micro CorrectFit Cushion & Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer Review

If you’re not yet familiar with Lisa, she’s a member of BLACKPINK, the first K-Pop girl group that performed in Coachella. And earlier this year, Lisa modeled for the two new products of Moonshot which are the Micro CorrectFit Cushion and Multi-Protection Tinted Moisturizer. You can see how good her skin looks with Moonshot here and here.

I never had a chance to buy their products, luckily, Style Korean picked me for their 32nd Try Me; Review Me. SPOILER ALERT: I did not end up looking like Lisa, but here’s my Moonshot review.

Moonshot Micro CorrectFit Cushion & Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer Review

I’ve been hearing a lot of good reviews about Moonshot, especially their cushion, and their tinted UV moisturizers. But I always get discouraged whenever I try to buy it because there are only two shades available for the cushion, while there’s only one for the moisturizers and all are too pale for my skin tone. So when I read that this Micro CorrectFit Cushion comes with a #301 Honey shade, I knew it’s time to try it.

The Moonshot Micro CorrectFit Cushion claims to give you a glow-boosting coverage in an instant. Plus, it erases the look of imperfections and unevenness. Velvet finishing, but it’s infused with skin caring moisturization. It actually contains Niacinamide which is a know brightening and anti-aging ingredient. And it has an SPF 50 PA+++ as well.

While the Moonshot Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer also claims to boosts the look of dull skin, but it also gives your skin a luminous as well as UV protection. And just like the cushion, this also contains Niacinamide, but only SPF 30 PA++. However, it also contains Panthenol and Hyaluronic Acid that promotes wound healing. Actually, the latter can give you plumper skin.

FORMULA & SHADE

As expected from a cushion compact, the Micro CorrectFit Cushion has a dewy formula but not that moisturizing. It was pilling on the sides of my nose and the dry patches on my skin were more obvious! Though admittedly I haven’t exfoliated my skin yet when I tried it. But on my exfoliated skin, it can leave a long-lasting smooth (it blurs the pores!) and dewy skin that looks like your actual skin. Unless it’s your correct shade and undertone. As expected, with a Korean product, the cushion has a yellow undertone. This is the perfect example of having the right shade but wrong undertone so I look like I was forcing my skin to look whiter.

On the other hand, I thought the Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer is the one I may not like but I ended up loving it! It’s not as tinted as I thought which I prefer because it doesn’t give me that off-white color, yet it gave me a healthy glowy look. The only downside though is it’s too dewy especially for the summer heat and my oily skin. I definitely need a good loose powder over it.

PACKAGING

The cushion comes with a bulk case just like the others in the market, but it comes with a pentagon-shaped puff instead of round. And I hope Moonshot sells their puff individually because it can help reach the corners of your face and blend it smoothly without tagging your face.

While the moisturizer is packaged in a pump bottle. I like that they made it a pump and a good quality one I must say because it’s easier to dispense and you can control how much you can take out.

Left: Look how dewy my skin with only the moisturize on one side of my face. Right: It doesn’t look that bad on the photo, but I swear, I look really pale. But the smooth look is real! Both of these photos are taken with no filter.

VERDICT

I like how the Micro CorrectFit Cushion makes my skin look smoother. It blurred my pores and made my skin look glowy. Though I wish it comes with more undertones. Other than that, make sure your skin is exfoliated or hydrated or moisturized (or all three) before you use this because it’s pilling and can exaggerate the dry patches. Overall, I didn’t hate this cushion, but I didn’t 100% love it. But I can say, among all the Korean cushions I’ve tried, this one has the closest shade to my skin tone.

But next time I’m gonna need to look more healthy and well-rested, or just want a low-key glowy look, I will opt for the Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer. It’s such a shame it’s too dewy for my oily skin and my country’s weather, but I recommend this especially those who have dry skin or living in colder countries. But if you’re looking for something a little more tinted, this is not it. It can’t even cover anything or blur pores.

Overall, I did not end up looking like Lisa, but I did get her dewy and smoother look skin with these Moonshot products.
