Lockdown may still be in place in your home country, you may even have given up on getting ready in the morning. However, there is no reason why you shouldn’t be stylish and look your best at home, especially if you are still working and talking to people on video calls. Jewellery is a great way to add a statement piece to your outfit without making too big of an effort. I’ve put together five jewellery trends that could transform your lockdown look.

Hoops

So nineties but definitely still on-trend, hoop earrings are the ultimate style statement that rarely goes out of fashion.  They are a classic way to feminize an outfit and will go with pretty much anything. Silver, gold, rose gold, you can even find textured or thick hoops. What’s great with these earrings is that they suit any style, from casual to grunge or evening look, they’re so versatile.

Layering

Stacking and layering have been brought on the fashion scene by Chanel and Gucci a few years ago and it’s still going strong! Plenty of necklaces layered on top of one another with different patterns, colours and jewels can easily add a little bit of fun to any plain dress or t-shirt. However, there is a certain art to it as each piece needs to compliment the other with enough spacing between the pieces to create a perfect balance. I told you it was art!

Ankle chains

Making a big come back this year, ankle chains or anklets are the perfect accessory for the warmer months. Perfect to add a little fun to any outfit, you can wear them with a tight skirt or a summer dress. Chic and delicate, ankle chains are super feminine and come in different shapes or forms, from seashells to diamonds, they’re definitely a must to add to your jewellery collection.

Pearls

Timeless and refined, pearls are a beautiful fashion statement that instantly give off that classy Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly vibe. You can go with faux or real pieces; whatever you choose, they will definitely add a touch of classiness and elegance to any outfit. Some people may still view them as being too conservative, but they can easily be accessorised in a casual way.

Heirloom

Family heirlooms are big this year and for a reason, they come with a personal and emotional touch. From a locket necklace to your mum’s engagement ring, heirloom jewellery comes in all forms and styles. If you don’t have jewellery passed on by your family then don’t worry, many designers are jumping on the bandwagon by creating vintage style pieces.
