Fashion Tips We Can Learn From Chadwick Boseman

With Avengers: End Game releasing in cinemas shortly, we have no shortage of superheroes to look to for guidance. Of all the supers to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chadwick Boseman, who plays Black Panther, is someone we can look up to for his bold fashion choices. Chadwick has been a leading force in championing diversity on the big screen, and stands out from the crowd in more ways than one. His personality comes out in full force in his fashion choices that are a far cry away from his on-screen wardrobe.

Take a look at a few images of Boseman at any event or when doing press, and you’ll find a diverse range of outfits that are interesting and unpredictable. He can take prints that on paper, would never work, and makes them look stylish and masculine one day, and moves to the USA hoodies and sweats effortlessly on another day.

Chadwick generally puts a modern edge on classic outfits that you might see on the red carpet and uses his confidence to pull them off. You’ll see non-standard tailoring and cuts, animal print outfits, and streetwear makes an appearance depending on the day. If you’re a fashion risk-taker, then this is the man to take inspiration from.

Make your boots stand out.

Starting with his boot choices, this is where you can see his taste shine. You’ll see him wearing a more subvert autumnal look pairing a thin, knitted jumper with straight grey jeans. He makes this outfit pop by adding in a pair of black Chelsea boots as the centerpiece of the outfit where we would usually see a pair of sneakers.

How about stripes?

This is a more difficult one to pull off, but if you can do it, you’ll be the center of attention at your next social outing. Check out Boseman wearing a jacket printed with black and grey tiger stripes, harkening back to his Black Panther role in the Avengers. If you’re brave enough and sick of your usual formal wear, look at experimenting with new fabrics that bring out your own personality and style.

Mix up your colors.

For many men, the standard of blacks, blues, and greys are about as far as we’ll go when looking at color options. Other colors can come off as too much, with reds and yellows being too loud, and browns coming off as boring or drab. Dark green is a suitable in-between that strays away from the norm, but when carried with class, will make you stand out from the crowd. See Boseman wearing his dark green suit for inspiration, which comes off as both classy and edgy all at once.

Print it out.

In the summer months, printed shirts become the norm, but it takes a keen eye to choose a print that doesn’t come off as garish. Boseman takes the approach that if you’re going to wear print, you need to shout about it, with bold floral styles muted slightly with black sweats and trainers which would look bland if paired with a more traditional shirt.
