Which Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer is the Right One For You?

Neutrogena is a well-known beauty brand that has been around for a long time but they still adapt to new beauty trends. Their Hydro Boost line is the brand’s answer to the current hyaluronic acid trend, which is predicted to be the trendiest skincare ingredient this year. But before reading my Neutrogena Hydro Boost review below, let me tell you something about its main ingredient.

What is Hyaluronic Acid and what does it do?

Hyaluronic Acid, although somewhat difficult to say, is the skin-care ingredient commonly found in serums, sheet masks, toners, and moisturizers. It is a sugar molecule that occurs naturally in the skin, and it helps to bind water to collagen, trapping it in the skin, so that skin can appear plumper, dewier, and more hydrated. Basically, hyaluronic acid increases hydration in the skin, which can keep your skin looking fresh, glowy, and bouncy. Remember, hydrated skin can prevent premature aging and fine lines.

Hyaluronic acid has a lightweight, watery nature, and the ability to helps to retain water in the skin for long-lasting hydration and strengthening of the skin barrier. The ingredient is also known to be nonirritating and does not trigger acne, rosacea, or allergic skin reaction.

What you need to know:
  • All three Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizers are supercharged with Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) complex that complements skin’s natural hydration for visibly plump, supple, and glowing skin.
  • Hyaluronic acid is great for all skin types. It just depends on the moisturizer texture which one will suit your skin.

For Oily Skin: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel review

I recommend this one for those with oily skin because, among the three moisturizers, this one is the lightest and absorbs the fastest into the skin. Upon applying it feels like I’m not wearing any moisturizer yet my skin feels smoother. It’s also good for the Philippines’ humid weather because it will not leave your skin feeling greasy or tacky.

I like applying this one too under my sunscreen and makeup because it doesn’t add any weight. However, it has a soapy scent with a very mild hint of floral that smells soothing but may bother those with highly sensitive skin.

This is available in Lazada for Php766.

For Sensitive Skin: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Nourishing Cream

This one is fragrance-free so it’s the best one for those with sensitive skin. It is thicker than the Water Gel above which also makes this a good option for those with dry skin. Despite the thickness, it still absorbs fast into the skin and doesn’t feel tacky.

Some side story, when I ran out of tattoo after-care ointment that my artist gave me I used this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Nourishing Cream. It is (again) fragrance-free which is the number one requirement for tattoo healing products. And since it is packed with hyaluronic acid than petroleum jelly, the healing process of my tattoo felt nicer. I honestly didn’t experience any severe itchiness, skin peeling, or scabbing.

This is available in Lazada for Php850.

For Dry Skin: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Cream

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Cream review

This one is practically a combination of the Water Gel and Nourishing Cream. It has the same scent as the Water Gel but with the thickness of the Nourishing Cream. This is perfect not just for people with dry skin, but for everyone who likes a thicker yet feels light on skin moisturizer to lock in the serum they just applied on their skin. I prefer using this after I used retinol for deeper hydration.

This is available in Lazada for Php850.

Have you already determined which one is for you after reading this Neutrogena Hydro Boost Moisturizer review? Hope it helps.
