The summer season is well underway and plenty of people are back traveling again. No matter where you are going, whether it’s a short European city break or 2-week beach vacation it can be a challenge to fit all your essentials into one medium suitcase.

Do not fret, help is here. Read on to learn how to make the most of your luggage allowance, the essentials for organized packing, and what to wear while traveling through the airport so you can be both stylish and comfortable.

Important to be organized

First of all, read about where you are going. Check the weather forecast. Consider your plans, will you be dining out at fancy restaurants or will it be more of an activity holiday? Your plans will best inform what you need to pack.

Next, lay everything out on the bed so you can get an idea of what you are going to take before packing. This includes clothing, travel outfits, make-up, toiletries, shoes, and jewellery. Choose a suitcase that is spacious and durable enough to stand the test of time, the medium suitcase signed Lancel is an excellent option.

The best way to keep your suitcase organised is to use packing cubes. Choose a packing cube with a mesh window so you can see exactly what is inside each one. Compartmentalize your clothing, for example, have a separate cube for day wear, evening wear, beach wear, gym clothes, and underwear. It will make getting ready each morning much simpler.

Use clear bags to organise all your toiletries. Again, it will save a lot of time and effort if you can see exactly what is in each bag and they will help to avoid any leakages or spills ruining your clothes.

Use shoe bags to keeps dirty shoes separate from your clothing. Pop in a drawstring bag for dirty clothes needing the laundry. Use a hardcase to protect your sunglasses and small jewellery pouches for your earrings, necklaces and rings.

How to pack

Packing is like a game of Tetris; you will have to play around with things a little. But you will find that it is much easier to pack when everything is neatly placed in packing cubes and bags. There will be much less empty space and gaps in your suitcase. You can also roll items of clothing. This will allow you to fit more in and it helps to reduce creases.

Carry-on bag

Either a tote or backpack is a great option as a carry-on bag depending on your preference. Once again, organization is key. Use small pouches to keep similar items easy to find. Have one with important documents such as boarding passes and passport and another for cables, earphones and chargers.  And finally, one for toiletry products on flight, such as a lip balm, facial mist, hand cream and hand sanitiser. Travel with an empty bottle as you will be able to refill it once you pass through security.

What to wear

While traveling it is necessary to be comfortable but you will also want to look stylish and put together. Comfy pants such as leggings or wide-leg trouser styled with a trainer always look chic. Pair this with a crisp white t-shirt, and a cardigan in case you feel a chill during your flight. Finish off the look with slip-on shoes so you can take them off easily during security checks.

Finally

Preparation is key in order to avoid any stress or anxiety in the lead-up to your trip leaving more time to enjoy the build-up to your well-earned break.
