Importance of Strengthening a Parent-Child Relationship

The Importance of Strengthening a Parent-Child Relationship for a better Earth and a better Tomorrow

Our planet is a fantastic place, but it needs our help to thrive.

While earth day is here and many agendas such as climate change, animal extinction, education as well as well being are brought up globally to focus on, it is also essential to look to our future generation not only as those who may be in the center of solving those issues but in the perspective of how we can starting today create a better environment together.

The child welfare field has traditionally focused on providing services that address child and youth well-being. However, the well-being of parents and families strongly influences the well-being of children. When parents and families are equipped with the proper support and skills, they can better attend to their children’s needs and maintain healthy parent-child relationships.

I want to value and encourage children’s desire to challenge themselves.

Parents’ cooperation is still needed to make the most of their children’s spirit of challenge.

It may be challenging to participate in this event if only one of them: the children or the parent, desires to do so.

At the begging of a vetted process to see if contestants are a match to participate in the Japan fashion week, one of the crucial steps we take is during the interview of the parents and child, we will look to see if the parent and child share the same vision and direction.

Hiroko Goto shares her experiences and initiatives in encouraging and providing support for the next generation.

Originally from Japan, Hiroko grew up working as a CA in Hong Kong. After starting her own business as a parent-child counselor and with diverse experience and background, she kick-started The Japan Kids fashion week.

My experience working as a CA in Hong Kong with people from 13 different nationalities led me to think about good things in Japan and improvements Japan and its people may need in the future. And after I got married and started raising four children, I have had some profound realizations.

In this context, I envisioned to give children a chance to develop their potential, and I want them to see the broader world without being limited by the boundaries of Japan, which is why I am working as a steering committee member for the kid’s fashion show event named Japan Kids fashion week. I have also realized and advocated that while parenting is an essential part of child-rearing, it is also about how parents can grow. They go both ways.

Encouraging Children’s desire to Challenge Themselves

Hiroko comments

In the lessons leading up to our event, ‘Japan kids fashion week,’ the instructors work hard to ensure that the students learn the world-standard curriculum for modeling and how to represent Japan to its fullest.

We hope that the children will be able to wear high-brand clothes worldwide. By seeing a different landscape, even if not as models, they will develop the ability to open up new possibilities for themselves.

The advice I can share with people

First of all, children need to convince their parents, and parents need to be prepared to face their children.

I think that our initiative will make a massive difference in people’s lives because

People will gain confidence and courage and have the time they will treasure for a lifetime.

Future Goal

My future goal for the initiative is to spread this Japan kids fashion week event not only across Japan but also to the world! I hope to be a bridge between the children of Japan and the children of the world.

Conclusion

Today, our planet has more than two billion children and teenagers just beyond the spotlight. By 2050, there will be three billion. Before the end of this century, more than half of the earth’s 11 billion people will be kids or seniors. Both require extraordinary care and attention.

Nowadays, it makes more sense for children and teenagers to learn about the world from one another, sharing stories about their lives.

The curiosity of parents and children and the learning through diverse opportunities could be the driving force for the upcoming global generation.

Let’s encourage the celebration of earth day. This month, we are aware of each progress we make for the earth, the people, and the next generation of explorers.
