When Sports Meets Fashion, Sports Fans Get The Best Accessories

The last decade has seen two major sectors, fashion and sports, collide like never before. In fact, sports and fitness fashion are so close right now that the market is predicted to reach $231,7 billion by 2024, growing at a rate of 4,42% every year. 

Sport is growing more lucrative year by year, and sports teams have also begun to see the value in brand collaborations. Take, for example, Jordan’s game-changing capsule with Paris Saint-Germain, or Adidas linking up with Palace and Juventus at the end of last year, both of which being significant successes, turning heads not only among sports fans but also fashion enthusiasts. 

So, when sports meets fashion, some lucky sports enthusiasts get to renew their closets with clothes and accessories designed by some of the most famous sports names and fashion brands. 

Luckily, most fashion brands are now embracing sportswear and are starting groundbreaking collaborations with some of the most renowned names in the sports industry. Not only this, users can get their sportswear altered as per their preference and get the Custom Racing apparel that suits them the most.

Paris Saint-Germain and Hublot

In 2013, luxury Swiss watchmaker Hublot and Paris Saint-Germain soccer team announced their collaboration to create a manly and marvelous watch: King Power Paris Saint-German. 

The PSG-branded King Power watch has the famous club’s iconic blue and red colors and features two chronograph hands positioned in the center, in addition to the hour and minute hands. The club’s official watch features a 48mm black ceramic case and bezel, a crown made of titanium and black rubber, and titanium push-pieces with white and blue rubber moldings. 

The club’s official watch was, however, produced on a limited number, only 200 numbered pieces, and each of the watches which have been sold came with an official PSG shirt signed by all the players. 

Paris Saint-Germain and Nike Jordan Brand 

In September 2018, Paris Saint-Germain and Jordan Brand teamed up in a multiyear agreement for their apparel and footwear collection. 

David Creech, Jordan’s vice president of design, revealed that the collection was based on football, which has gained a lot of popularity over the last few years in France. 

The connection between the two brands became apparent since Neymar switched clubs in August 2017, from Barcelona to PSG for a world-record of more than $257 million. In 2016, Neymar, the Brazilian professional footballer, and Jordan had a collaboration for a football boot, sneaker, and apparel. So, with Neymar coming to PSG, it was only a matter of time until Jordan and PSG realized the value of a collaboration between them. 

The Jordan Brand X PSG collection includes more than 25 different pieces, including a beanie, a parka, and two pairs of soccer boots. 

Ray-Ban and Ferrari

2017 was a great year for Formula 1 enthusiasts who also love sunglasses. 

The sunglasses designer Ray-Ban teamed up with Scuderia Ferrari to create its Scuderia Ferrari Collection, a collection that pays tribute to the legendary profiles of racing stars from the ’70s. All frames of the collection come with dedicated packaging and the Ray-Ban/ Scuderia Ferrari Racing Shield nicely placed on the lenses and temples. 

The Scuderia Ferrari Glasses Collection by Ray-Ban includes limited exclusive series of sunglasses for those Formula 1 fans who love high speeds and beautiful cars saw through a new pair of lenses with fabulous shades. 

The collection is a marvelous mix of quality, sophistication, Italian chic, and attention to detail. Each of the sporty sunglasses models stands out with the Ferrari colors and the well-known logo with a black horse on a yellow background. 

Palace X Adidas X Juventus 

Following PSG’s widely successful collab with Jordan Brand, last year, Italy’s most successful soccer club, Juventus, had a groundbreaking collaboration with cult skate brand Palace and Adidas. 

The Palace X Adidas X Juventus collection had its aesthetics inspired by the German brand’s kit template from the 2006 World Cup, including a number of pieces such as training jerseys, hats, tracksuits, pullovers, a rucksack, plus a special-edition kit. 

The pieces in the Palace X Adidas X Juventus collection include very bold colors and accents, as well as the team’s iconic black and white vertical stripes. The team’s colors and prints were reinterpreted for this collection with neon green and orange accents. 

Paris Saint-Germain X Blune X Commune de Paris

In 2017, PSG was featured in Paris’ Fashion Week for its special-edition jersey in collaboration with other two well-known fashion brands. PSG had a major collab with Blune and Commune De Paris, which resulted in a bespoke capsule collection. 

The collection includes a plethora of products that are a fantastic adaptation of PSG’s iconic team colors paired with the tailored approach of Commune de Paris and Blune. The PSG X Blune X Commune de Paris collection covers the full spectrum of sportswear such as sweats, socks, scarves and t-shirts, caps, and bombers. 

Roger Federer and Uniqlo

In 2018, Roger Federer, the Swiss professional tennis player, ranked No. 4 in men’s singles tennis, has shocked everyone by leaving Nike, a brand with which he stayed for over 24 years, and starting a collaboration with fashion brand Uniqlo

Last year, in 2019, the New York collection by Roger Federer and Uniqlo, the Japanese mass-maker retailer, was inspired by athletes and their needs and preferences on the field and the black-tie elegance. 

The monochrome collection aims to reflect Roger’s elegant playing style on the tennis field, with the top features including Federer’s iconic short-stand collar and a mesh fabric that is highly breathable, perfect for the heat of mid-summer in New York. The collection includes not only polo shirts and shorts but also accessories like wristbands and tennis stocks, pretty much a full tennis outfit.
