Many people, including myself, often experience skin conditions such as hives, rashes, redness, tightness, and heat, all of which leads to annoyance and premature aging. Fortunately, I found a good wash-off mask that does the job such as the I’m From Mugwort Mask. It has been my “skincare first aid” or my go-to mask for almost 3 years now.
So when I’m From (yes, that’s the brand’s name) announced last year that they will release a sheet mask version, I was really curious. Is it as good as the wash-off mask? And can I bring it easily to my travels? Luckily, Wishtrend sent me a couple as part of the promotion of their website’s rebrand (it’s much more organized and faster now!) and to write an I’m From Mugwort Sheet Mask review.
The I'm From Mugwort Sheet Mask is not as soothing/calming as the wash off mask but it's enough to reduce my skin's redness. Overall, I think this mask is better for those with dehydrated skin that is starting to get irritated.
Calming but not as much as the wash-off mask
Too slimy for my liking
The sheet mask is too big
WHAT IS IT?
I’m From Mugwort Sheet Mask is made with thin, transparent, and highly adhesive I-Cell sheet soaked in highly concentrated essence to deliver the effects of the active ingredients to the skin. The product contains 91.45% Mugwort Extract from Ganghwa just like the Mugwort Essence.
If you’re not familiar with mugwort yet, it is a plant that helps relieve skin itchiness and has a high content of Vitamin E which is good for the skin. It also has an ability to cleanse impurities, so it can detoxify your skin and get rid of acne. You can read more about it here. And you can also read its full ingredient analysis in Skin Carisma.
APPLICATION: After cleansing, prep the skin with the toner. Attach the mask sheet in the order of forehead, nose, and chin while aligning the eyes and wrapping around the cheeks for tight adhesion. Remove the sheet after 10-20 minutes and gently pat the remaining essence to promote absorption.
SCENT: Just like the wash-off mask, it smells like soil and grass specifically the smell of grass when it is hot and it suddenly rains and the heat from the soil emerged thus releasing that herb-like grassy scent. In the Philippines, we call it “singaw ng lupa.”
The I’m From Mugwort Sheet Mask feels a little slimy but it’s not tacky, but it surely feels moisturizing and hydrating. Though this doesn’t feel cooling like the wash-off mask, and I haven’t tried the essence yet so I can’t compare it with this. I also find it not as soothing as the wash-off mask, it can’t eve calm and inflamed acne, it’s but it’s enough to reduce my skin’s redness. Overall, I think this mask is better for those with dehydrated skin that is starting to get irritated.
