Seoul White Korea is a proudly Filipino brand that brings innovative K-beauty concepts into products that are specifically designed for the Filipina skin. They promote a quick beauty routine with two simple steps: using their Double White Whitening Soap followed by the Instant White Tone-up Whitening Milky Cream and I will review both of these products below.
But first, let me tell you why I am doing this Seoul White Korea review even though I don’t use whitening products on a regular basis. I love and I’m proud of my morena skin tone, but I also like a “glowing skin” look that some whitening products give. I use them not to whiten my skin, but to give it a little bright and glow. And it doesn’t matter if you want tanner or paler skin, what matters is you don’t discriminate.
Seoul White Korea uses a blend of Arbutin Bearberry (dubbed “the new kojic acid”), White Strawberry (rare and “known for its unique and magical ability to stay white even under the sun”), and Donkey Milk (the “white gold” with 4 times the vitamin C and more moisturizing properties than cow’s milk).
Seoul White Korea Instant White Tone-Up Whitening Cream Review
WHAT: The Seoul White Korea Instant White Tone-Up Cream claims to instantly brightens skin and lightens dark spots, delivers a radiant skin tone that lasts all day, hydrates with the softer, more supple look, lightens without any irritation, infused with white strawberry to naturally lift away dirt, debris, and dead skin cells for double the whitening effect. Lastly, it claims to deliver an SPF-like effect to protect your complexion. In short, it provides an instantly fairer, softer, and more luminous look minus the stinging!
I stay away from tone-up creams as much as possible, they are either too greasy or too white for my morena skin, or both! So I didn’t have any expectations from this one, but after my first try, I was surprised. It may sound cliche, but it is not like anything I tried before!
It feels really light on the skin. Not greasy, not sticky or thick. And second, it doesn’t forcefully make your skin go white. It just the right amount to give your skin a glowing and brighter look, whatever your skin tone. I have morena skin tone, while my mom has fair skin and this tone-up just looks good on both of us.
Just like most tone-up creams, this one also has a scent. It smells like strawberry, but not overwhelming. And I’m glad it didn’t trigger my “scentsitive” skin, I didn’t experience any irritation.
PROS: It feels light, non-sticky, and non-greasy. It really instantly brightens the skin without overdoing it even for morena skin tones.
CONS: For the claim that it lightens dark spots, I personally didn’t notice it happening. I still recommend Vitamin C Serum for that. And I also don’t recommend relying on its claim that it “delivers an SPF-like effect to protect your complexion” I highly suggest that you still use an actual sunscreen for protection, here are some I tried.
Seoul White Korea Double White Whitening SoapReview
WHAT: A creamy soap that lather and provides a non-drying but thorough cleanse. Infused with white strawberry to naturally lift away dirt, debris, and dead skin cells for double the whitening effect sans the sting and delivers an SPF-like effect to protect your complexion. Just like the tone-up cream above, it lightens without any irritation with powerful skin brightener arbutin bearberry and minimizes the look of dark spots and acne marks while leaving skin soft.
Honestly, I thought this will be another mediocre soap. I thought I will be doing a negative Seoul White Korea review. But once again, I was surprised. Unlike most so-called “whitening kojic soaps” you can find in the drugstore, this one is actually moisturizing on the skin. It leaves my skin soft, supple and smells like strawberry.
But don’t expect that it will instantly whiten your skin. No soap alone can do that. Maybe when you use it for 6 months or more, you’ll notice something since that’s what most people in the beauty forums have claimed after using this soap.
NOTE: It also smells good. I have the small version, meaning this is for the face, but I use this on my body. (They also have a bigger version of these soaps.)
PROS: It will make your skin soft, supple, and moisturized.
CONS: Don’t expect that it will instantly whiten your skin. No soap can do that.
