Laneige Tattoo Lip Tint Review

In honor of National Lipstick Day, I will be featuring my five favorite lipsticks from Korean and Philippine brands. Because I’m sure many of you are familiar with many western brands, so let me introduce some of the best from our side of the world. For the second feature, here’s the Laneige Tattoo Lip Tint review.

VERDICT
MY THOUGHTS
Unlike most lip tints by K-beauty brands, the Laneige Tattoo Lip Tint DOESN'T feel like butter. It dries fast without really drying your lips. It's great for creating an ombre lip too which is still very popular in Korea.
PROS
Lightweight
Doesn't feel like butter.
Highly-pigmented even when you blot it.
CONS
The colors kinda leak on the side of the lips if you don't use a lip liner.
Limited shades.

PRODUCT RATING

WHAT IS IT?

Laneige Tattoo Lip Tint is a highly pigmented tint offers lightweight texture and intense color that lasts long almost like a tattoo. It has a lightweight and fast-drying formula that offers a light texture that quickly fits onto the lips to create a non-sticky smooth satin finish. The lightweight silicone oil ensures a satin finish without leaving the lips feeling dry. A lip knife applicator similar to a painting knife makes for easier lining and drawing.

It comes in 10 shades and this one I received is called “Chili Red”.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Apply on the lower lips first then on the upper lips to get a full or gradient lip-look.

SCENT: It smells like sweet like strawberry candy. Seriously, almost all K-beauty lip tints I tried always smells like fruit candy.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a rectangular tube. It actually looks really plain for a k-beauty product. I don’t hate it, I just felt underwhelmed on the look after using the Missha Jewel Stone Tint Velvet. But its wand is really interesting. It does look like a knife, and very precise when you applied the tint.

TEXTURE & FORMULA: It has a semi-matte finish. It also feels a little watery and super lightweight on the lips yet highly-pigmented. Seriously, the shade is popping! Even when I blot it with tissue it leaves a highly-pigmented tint.

MY EXPERIENCE

I wasn’t interested in buying this Laneige Tattoo Lip Tint because all their 10 shades are bright red and pink which are the colors I don’t wear. But I received one from a Laneige store opening event last December 2018, and I was blown away how pigmented and lightweight this is. One swipe was all I needed. It also lasts longer than most lipsticks I use.

Unlike most lip tints by K-beauty brands, this one DOESN’T feel like butter. It dries fast without really drying your lips. It’s great for creating an ombre lip too which is still very popular in Korea.

But since it is red, I decided to give this to my mom. She really loves it, and always kisses out cats with it. And so I learned that it transfers, but hard to remove when dry. Though she said it leaks when you don’t blot it with a tissue. So I think you will need a lip liner for this.

Will I buy it? Not really. If there’s a Laneige I want to buy again, it’ll be their Two-Toned Lipstick in Matte.
