Quick Fix For Oily & Dehydrated Skin: Beau N Beau Secret 7 Skin Review

I have oily but often dehydrated, and it’s hard to find a moisturizer that will suit that kind of skin. It’s different from the combination and dry skin. A dehydrated skin have itchy patches, have dull skin, and it becomes sensitive. Obviously, the best fix for it is to hydrate. But drinking lots of water kinda takes a while to show on the skin once the itchy flaky skin already showed up. Luckily, I’ve read humectants and how it can help oily and dehydrated skin. So does this product have humectants? Is this really a quick fix to oily and dehydrated skin? Scroll down to read my Beau N Beau Secret 7 Skin review to know more.

BUT FIRST, WHAT ARE HUMECTANTS?

According to Lab Muffin, it’s humectant moisturizer is an ingredient that sits on your skin and grabs onto water, slowing it from evaporating. It keeps your skin hydrated. Some humectant examples are hyaluronic acid and aloe vera which are both in the Beau N Beau Secret 7 Skin.

WHAT IS IT?

Beau N Beau Secret 7 Skin is NOT a toner. It is a “skin” and I know it sounds confusing like essence when it was first introduced to the western market but “Skin” is the first step of skincare, after cleansing and before toner. Its primary function is to give hydration and soothing feeling after cleansing. And as the same says, this is perfect for a 7 Skin Method.

In Japanese skincare routine, they call this skin conditioner, (remember Hada Labo Gokujyun), while in western beauty it’s like a skin prep.

INGREDIENTS

Its most notable ingredients are Hyaluronic Acid and Aloe Vera which are known hydrating ingredients. But besides those, this also contains Green Tea which is soothing to the skin and an anti-oxidant.

The Beau N Beau Secret 7 Skin does not contain alcohol, AHA or even BHA. No physical or chemical exfoliants. No artificial coloring, paraben, or anything that can cause irritation. However, it has Citric Acid which is a pH adjuster, but it’s only bad for sensitive if it has a high amount, but this product doesn’t look like it does. You can read its full ingredient analysis in CosDNA.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: There are many ways to apply this product. My favorite is the so-called 7 Skin Method which is applying a hydrating liquid product 7 times into the skin (NOTE: Only do this once or twice a week). If you’re not into applying 7 layers of product, you can soak cotton pads and stick it on your face like a mask. That method is called “toner masking” even though you’re not really using toner. But if you want something quick, you can also put this in a spray bottle to use it as a mist.

SCENT: It has a generic “unscented scent” if you know what I mean. But it kinda resemble Hada Labo Gokujyun.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a 300ml clear pink bottle. I like it, easy to see how many is left on the product, but I wish it comes it a pump. It’s easier to do 7 Skin Method with a pump bottle.

FORMULA: It has a clear and watery formula. It only looks pink because the bottle is a clear pink but it has no dye at all.

RESULT: The Beau N Beau 7 Skin absorbs fast into the skin without leaving a greasy or oily feeling. It literally feels like you applied water on your skin, but unlike water, it leaves the skin feeling moisturized and soft. It gets rid of the itchy feeling after just one use, and after 3-4 uses, it also gets rid of the flaky skin. I prefer to apply this using the 7 Skin Method twice or thrice a week, and after my 7th layer I apply 2-3 layers on my hands as well to keep them soft too.

Actually, I gave my hand creams away and just use the Beau N Beau 7 Skin to soften my hands. I prefer this because again, I hate any sticky/greasy feeling on my skin. But overall, because this product preps my skin so nicely, I feel like other products in my skincare routine works better.

VERDICT

PROS: It is as lightweight as water, does not leave a greasy or oily feeling yet it’s hydrating and moisturizing. It calms irritated/itchy skin and gets rid of flaky skin after 3-4 consecutive uses. It also helps your other skincare products to work better.

CONS: I find no cons!
