I recently had a breakout again, but this time is kinda different than the first time I experienced it. This time the acne I have are very painful, a bit itchy, and my face is so red I don’t need to use blush anymore, even when I have a foundation on my face. It’s the first time I encountered this kind of breakout, so I stick to hydrating and calming products. Coincidentally, Benton released a new sheet mask that targets redness, and I am one of the lucky people who get to try it in the Philippines. But did it really made me say goodbye to my redness? WHAT IS IT?
Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack promises to soothe and protect irritated and blemished skin with Centella Asiatica, also known as the tiger grass. The sheet masks hydrate and nourish the skin are is free from irritation.
This is recommended for those with:
- Skin with poor oil-water balance
- Skin that needs instant hydration
- Skin that is irritated and reddish
- Skin that is dry and itchy
- Skin that needs a fresh oil-free product
- Skin that is sensitive to harmful environments and chemicals
INGREDIENTS
Based on its name, this sheet mask contains Centella, specifically the Centella Asiatica Extract and Centella Asiatica Leaf Water that both promotes wound healing. Besides those, other notable ingredients are Madecassoside and Sodium Hyaluronate which both do the same thing, healing wounds. Actually, these ingredients can also hydrate, soothe and nourish your skin which is good for those suffering from redness. Another thing to take note, the Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack is also free of alcohol, paraben, and silicon. It does not also contain ingredients that can cause fungal acne! PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: After cleansing, prepare face with a skin toner. And then open the packaging and smooth mask onto the face. After 10~20 minutes, remove mask and pat leftover essence gently onto the skin.
SCENT: I don’t know if Centella Asiatica has a scent but this sheet mask smells a lot like Mikmik Powder, a snack favorite among Filipino kids back in the ’90s and early 2000s. And no, we don’t mix it with water, pouring it all down into our throats. Temporary chocking and coughing was part of the experience. Speaking of it, I’m not sure if it is still available these days. Anyway, back to the review…
PACKAGING: Just like most sheet masks, the Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack is packaged in a foil pack which is easy to tear without the use of scissors. Another thing to take note, the sheet mask is an eco-friendly S-Cell Sheet with a delicate fit. It is the softest sheet mask I ever used.
FORMULA: This is one of the most soaked sheet masks I used. And also one of the sheet masks with a very watery essence I ever used. Seriously, the moment I took the sheet mask out to unfold, it drips instantly. So I have to unfold it faster to make sure less essence will be wasted. But at least there’s a lot of essences left for my arms, legs, and neck. Although the essence feels a little tacky, at least it absorbs fast into the skin.
RESULT: By now, I already used this Benton Goodbye Redness Centella Mask Pack three times. But the most notable time I used it is when I was on my way to my grandparent’s wedding anniversary dinner. My skin at that time was a bit dry, itchy, and red. So I decided to use one since I have more than 15 minutes to spare. And I’m so glad I did! Pimple bumps were flattened, the itchiness was gone, my redness was lessened, and my skin a little bit smoother. My skin also looks brighter but I think that’s because the redness was gone my skin looks brighter.
MORE TIPS: Store the mask in a refrigerator, you may enjoy an extra cooling sensation and a pore tightening effect. And using a steamed towel or warm water before the mask is recommended to open pores. Lastly, never use the mask longer than the indicated time. As the sheet mask dries, the skin may lose its moisture.
VERDICT
PROS: This is one of the masks I will be hoarding because it really reduced the redness of my skin. It also stops the itching, and most of all, it kinda flattens the pimples and makes your skin look smoother after 15-20 minutes of using. This does not also contain alcohol or harmful ingredients.
CONS: The essence feels a little tacky in the first few minutes after removing the sheet mask.
