Pretty & Natural Look: Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek Trio Review

I usually just apply BB cream or concealer to cover blemishes then finish it off with Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder and a mauve pink lipstick. Despite being low maintenance, one of the things I almost never use or buy is a two in one makeup product specifically a lip and cheek makeup. But as you could see I copped on this one because I literally see it almost everywhere. But is it good or just another two in one product that disappointed me? Scroll down to read my entire Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek Trio review.

WHAT IS IT?

Skinfood Fresh Fruit Lip & Cheek Trio is a multi-purpose product that makes your lips and cheeks moist and lustrous with fresh fruit colors. Fresh fruit inspired color with an innovative two-in-one formula as they claim that doubles up as a lip color and a blush. This Skinfood Lip & Cheek Trio is both for the face as a blush and a lip balm in cream type. It Moisturizing and smooth touch. Each box comes with three shades to add a fresh fruit flush or a natural rosy glow.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: For lips, use your finger or a lip brush to apply it on your lips. While for cheeks, use your finger or sponge to apply it evenly on the part of your cheek that protrudes a bit when you smile. And here’s another tip, if you’re into the trendy Glossy Eye Shadow Look, you can totally use this! Using your finger, apply this in your eyelids for that instant glossy eyes without the need for a sticky lip gloss.

For more color, layer on until the desired color is achieved.

SCENT: It smells sweet like fruit candy.

PACKAGING: This is cutely packaged in a pan that resembles a vintage tin can. Light and easy to open. Just slide the cap off on the side.

TEXTURE: It feels like a balm rather than a cream. It’s very easy to apply and blends really easy on the skin. You can definitely apply this by just using your fingers. But you could also use a brush for the lips and sponge for the cheeks. And definitely, just use your finger for the glossy eye look.

RESULT: It is indeed moisturizing, but feels a little tacky on the cheeks. But just a little, nothing to be bothered by it even if you have an oily skin like me. The color looks really natural when blended and you can easily intensify it by adding more layers without looking cakey or someone slapped your cheeks.

On the photo above, it only has one layer yet look how intense those colors! So yeah, the color really pops on the cheeks but when blended it looks really natural and pretty and lasts really long. But on the eyelids, you don’t need to blend it that much and it also lasts long, but don’t expect it to be as glossy as those glossy eyes in editorials and runway, it’s more like a toned-down version of glossy eyes. While on lips, it’s more like a tinted lip balm rather than a lipstick and the color doesn’t last that long. But if you’re into barely-there lip color look then this could work on you.

VERDICT

PROS: Moisturizing, intense buildable color, lasts long on the cheeks and eyes. And it comes in many shades! This one I got is called Fruit Mix.

CONS: Doesn’t last long on the lips.
