The Gentle Lip Exfoliator: Unpa Bubi Bubi Lip Review

Having dry and flaky lips weren’t really my problem before. Even when the weather gets cold and I feel a little dry on the lips, I haven’t reached a point where I desperately needed a lip balm. But when I started using liquid lipsticks, I experienced the worst and longest period of flaky lips, I was desperate for lip balm! Luckily, Nivea Lip Care A Kiss Of Recovery Medicated Lip Repair SPF 15 rescued my lips. But during those flaky lips days –which was a bit painful too FYI– I went a little Scarlet O’Hara. “As God is my witness, I’m going to live through this and when it’s all over, I’ll never be hungry having this flaky painful lips again.” Okay, I’m a little dramatic when ill, but yeah, since then I took extra care of my lips. I drink more water and been searching for a good (non-painful) lip exfoliator. And this Unpa Bubi Bubi Lip has been on my radar for almost a year but never had a chance to buy it. Until I received it for free from the Style Korean Pink in Blossom Box, and finally had a chance to use it. Below is my Unpa Bubi Bubi Lip review to know if it’s really worth buying.

WHAT IS IT?

Unpa Bubi Bubi Lip is a daily irritation-free and soft lips exfoliation. It has a powerful cleansing effect for removing stain lip products. It doesn’t contain harmful microbead, instead, it bubbles for a safer lip exfoliation. It contains natural ingredients such as peach, grapefruit, etc. You check the rest of its ingredients in this CosDNA Analysis.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Pump a generous amount of the product on your finger and spread it all over your lips. After the bubble comes up, wait 5 minutes until your dead skin cells are softened. When the bubble has vanished, rub smoothly with your finger. Keep rubbing until the bubble has been removed with all the dead skin cells. And then wipe your lips with water or with a wet tissue. Then you can finish it off with your fave moisturizing lip balm.

This is my first try, and it didn’t bubble as much as I expected.

SCENT: It smells like cream, not those above your lattes, but those you put on your face. But it has a mild sweet scent, just a little tiny bit.

PACKAGING: It is packaged with a small plastic pump. It’s really cute! And it comes with a tiny box as well. The design is minimalist but there’s cuteness in it.

FORMULA: When you pump it out of the bottle, you’ll get a creamy product. But apply it immediately on your lips because it will soon start to bubble on your lips in seconds. Don’t expect it to be a light bubble though, as a foaming cleanser. It bubbles but still has a creamy texture to it.

RESULT: Don’t ask me how this taste, because I never tried to taste nor got so curious and put it in my mouth. But if my nose will be the judge, I think it will not taste good anyway. Despite that, I love how gentle this Unpa Bubi Bubi Lip. And compared to sugar lip exfoliators which are more common, I prefer this one. It feels weird and a little fun when it bubbles on your lips, you can even hear them bubbles. But it doesn’t sting, no pain at all! After you gently massage it and wash it off, you’ll feel your lips smoother and softer than 5 minutes ago. I think I’m not going back to physical scrub exfoliators after this.

I know, the bubbles on my lips on the right photo looks a bit “nasty” it’s not as cute as it’s Bubi Bubi name but it’s really effective.

VERDICT

PROS: It’s gentle and really softens the lips. It does not sting and easy to wash off.

CONS: You can only purchase it online if you don’t live in South Korea.
