I love using exfoliators. I use it once a week or every other week. It depends on the condition of my face. But honestly, I haven’t still found the one that I’m really in love with. I’m still in the “Tinder Phase” swiping left and right (or rather up and down) in the online shops and beauty blogs for exfoliators with good ratings. Until I stumbled upon this brand called Neogen, and oh boy! There’s a bunch of stuff I wanted to buy. But I settled on two products, for now. So I’m starting with this Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine review.
WHAT IS IT?
Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine consist of multi-layered pads that instantly slough away rough, flaking, dead skin cells. It claims to gently exfoliate skin to reveal a healthier, smoother, clearer complexion. The three-layered gauze pad deep cleans to remove skin-clogging dirt and oils. It is also anti-aging formula rich in resveratrol fights free radical damage, pigmentation, and wrinkle formation. It helps prevent blackheads while minimizing the look of large pores.

PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: Use after cleansing. Slip your fingers into the sleeve of the pad. Using the criss-crossed side, gently wipe in a circular motion all over dry face and neck. Next, rotate the pad and use the soft side to pat it gently all over the face. Wash it off. Throw away the used pad. Close the product tightly to avoid contamination. Proceed with the rest of routine. Use once or twice a week.
SCENT: This one I got is the “wine” flavor (this also comes in Green Tea and Lemon), and this smells more like grapes or sweet prune juice rather than red wine.
PACKAGING: Each jar contains 30 pieces of Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Pads which are all soaked in a watery essence and packaged in a chunky sturdy plastic jar.
FORMULA: The essence of this product feels a bit sticky or oily or a mix of both. But it’s easy to wash off with just water.
RESULT: First of all, I don’t use this when I have active acne especially when it is cystic. I find this Neogen Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Wine too abrasive for my acne, however, I admit that this is still a good exfoliator. At first, I don’t get the hype, but in continued use, I see that it’s good. I just have to get over the sticky feeling at first. It actually makes my skin always feels so soft and looks brighter after I wash it off with water. But make sure to wash it off within 2 minutes.
I love the pads as well, it’s totally different from CosRx One Step Pimple Clear Pad. It has a pocket where you could tuck your fingers so it won’t get in a way when you swipe this on your skin. Plus, the other side is not just the regular embossed type, it’s actually like a gauze pad which really helps with the exfoliation.
The best part of this product is you can use this not only to your face and neck but also on your elbows and knees, even though they don’t mention it on the label but they did it on the Neogen DermaTV in YouTube. Actually, I even use this on my back!
VERDICT
PROS: Easy to use, exfoliates without irritation or sting, lightens dark spots in continued use. You can also use this to exfoliate other parts of your body. I can’t say about the others, but this Peeling Wine smells so good.
CONS: Probably too abrasive for acne, at least the Peeling Wine. I can’t say about the Green Tea and Lemon versions of this.
