Cali White Activated Charcoal & Organic Coconut Oil Toothpaste Review

Last week, I posted my review about the Cali White Vegan Botanical Teeth Whitening Pen. And now continuing my Teeth Whitening series this week, I’m sharing my Cali White Activated Charcoal & Organic Coconut Oil Toothpaste review. You see, this is really interesting for me. Growing up, both charcoal and coconut oil are common things you’ll find in my home. Charcoal for deodorizing the refrigerator and grilling food for special occasions. While the coconut oil is the number one export product of my country which is widely used for many things such as an organic hair oil to remove dandruff and keeping your hair smooth and shiny. Never I have imagined that those two could be combined together to be used as a whitening toothpaste.

WHAT IS IT?

Cali White Activated Charcoal & Organic Coconut Oil Toothpaste is a, obviously, a toothpaste that claims to have the most effective whitening and detoxifying ingredients on earth. It is teeth whitening with zero sensitivity. It contains infused with antiseptic and remineralizing properties of Diatomaceous Earth, Tea Tree Oil, Coconut Oil, Xylitol and Peppermint Oil. All the ingredients your Mom would want you to have in your everyday toothpaste.

INGREDIENTS

Purified Water (Distilled Water), Xylitol, Diatomite Diatomaceous Earth, Baking Soda, Activated Charcoal, Tea Tree Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Xanthan Gum, Citric Acid, Peppermint Oil, Natural Flavors.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Apply a generous amount on your damp toothbrush bristles. There are no foaming agents so toothpaste may dissolve a little while brushing, this is totally normal. Brush thoroughly for two minutes. Clean off toothbrush bristles and rinse mouth. Then brush tongue with clean bristles and don’t forget to floss.

SCENT: It still has the minty toothpaste scent we’re all familiar with.

PACKAGING: It is packaged just like any other toothpaste but the tube is black. So no problem dispensing the toothpaste on your brush.

RESULT: Since the Cali White Activated Charcoal & Organic Coconut Oil Toothpaste does not contain any foaming agent, it kinda feels weird brushing at first. You know when you brush and brush until the foam was gone? Yeah, it’s like that except, in regular toothpaste that’s when you rinse your mouth but with this Charcoal & Organic Coconut Oil toothpaste it’s like that foamless brushing from the start with some powdery stuff you’ll feel brushing your teeth. I suspect it’s the charcoal but it’s gentle, nothing that will hurt your gums unless you brush aggressively.

Despite the lack of foam, it does really clean my teeth well and it freshens my breath too thanks to the peppermint mint. In regards to the whitening effect, it works but doesn’t expect anything significant especially on your first use. I think I saw improvement after a week. Despite that, I still prefer using this because it doesn’t make my teeth sensitive since I love eating ice cream.

Another thing, it’s kinda funny when you look in the mirror when you brush with this. It’s black! Reminds me of my embarrassing baby photos while eating chocolates.

VERDICT

PROS: It’s organic and gentle so it will not make your teeth sensitive. It really whitens your teeth but does not expect a fast and significant result.

CONS: It feels weird to brush without a foam.
