TonyMoly Luminous Pure Aura CC cream review

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream Review

Since the rise of the so-called “Alphabet Creams,” I’ve been wanting to try a CC Cream, but I couldn’t simply let go of my favorite BB cream. Luckily, I had a chance to do a Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream review. Keep reading to know if this Korean skin care product is for you.

What is it?

Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream, as you could read the label, is a CC cream but with SPF30 PA++ and it is not a Korean Makeup product. As some of you may know, CC creams are like BB creams. They have qualities of makeup but works more as skincare. But CC creams focus more on the color correction that’s why it’s called CC. Although, when I read the back label of this product, they mentioned that the CC in here means “Color Change”. Because besides correcting the skin tone of your face, Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream also instantly whitens your face and gives it a luminous look that is so popular on Korean Actresses.

Performance

APPLICATION: If you’ve used a BB cream before, then you’ll have no problem using a CC cream since they have the same creamy and thick texture but light on the face. It’s one of the things I like about it, you both have a skincare and makeup on your face without the hustle of putting so many products. It gives your skin a chance to breathe.

PACKAGING: Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream is packaged, unlike most Korean cosmetics which are too cute to throw away when you’re done. It’s packaged in a minimalist yet elegant black and white hard plastic bottle pump with silver lettering on the words “Pure Aura” on the bottom. Unlike in most BB and CC creams, you press the pump on top to get the product. You can’t squeeze it nor cut it to fully drain the bottle.

SMELL: It has a sweet smell but it can’t be compared to a fruit nor flower. But it reminds me of some Jergens lotion.

RESULTS: I brought Tony Moly Luminous Pure Aura CC Cream on my island hopping trip in Caramoan and used it as a face sunblock since it has SPF 30 PA++ and I’ll be out in the sun for the whole day. I also chose it because it’s easy to apply and I still want to look flawless without using makeup since I’ll be swimming in the salty sea from time to time. It’ll be useless and time-consuming to put on makeup.

I like that it immediately brightens my face, and made me look like I don’t lack sleep from a long travel. But you have to control the use of the product if you have naturally tan skin like mine because you might end up too white. It’ll look like you had some thin layer of white paint on your face. Not a good look!

Since it’s a cream, those with oily skin should apply some loose powder after using this to avoid looking too luminous. By that, I mean, not looking like there’s cooking oil on your face.

PROS: It has an effective SPF, I didn’t have any sunburn on my face at all nor tan lines from my sunglasses. It also immediately whitens and brightens the face. Think of those flawless Korean actresses’ skin on your favorite K-Drama. Love it, right?!

CONS: You must be confident to use it alone since it only corrects, brightens and whitens skin and doesn’t conceal blemishes or dark spots. There are only two available shades and both are not good on dark skin tones. Lastly, those with oily skin should use this with loose powder or it’ll look like you put coconut oil on your face.
