As summer is on its last month in the Philippines and will be arriving in western countries very soon I will break down my summer essentials in a series of blog posts: all the products I used and DIYs that you will need to have an unforgettable summer vacation… starting with Flawless Skin Protect Mist review.
Ah, summer. The season of sand, sun, and fun has finally come. Spontaneous road trips, exciting beach getaways, sizzling by-the-shore shindigs and a possible sunlit romance await you. With these alluring sun-drenched promises, we can’t help but ask: Is your skin protected?
Formulated with a high SPF 70, Flawless Skin Protect Mist (as determined through an International In Vitro Evaluation) effectively shields skin from UVA and UVB rays. Its canister, which comes in Flawless’ signature pink, features a 360-degree spray system that allows continuous delivery of skin protection and can be applied in any direction; be it horizontally, vertically, diagonally, or even upside-down.
The Flawless Skin Protect Mist Review
I received 2 canisters of 100 mL Flawless Skin Protect Mist last March. Unfortunately, I didn’t bring it to my La Union Beach Getaway because it arrived at my house 2 hours after I left. But it doesn’t mean I waited for my next beach getaway to use it. Now that the UV radiation is much harsher these days because of that big hole in our ozone layer, applying sunscreen every day is no longer optional, it’s a must!
What is it?
Flawless Skin Protect Mist is practically a sunscreen in a liquid formula. Unlike those sunscreens that we often see in the Philippine market which are in lotion formulas, the Flawless Skin Protect Mist is lightweight with a higher SPF than most of those lotions, and it is water-resistant so you don’t have to worry if you will do some water sports.
Plus, it has SPF70 which is actually what most dermatologists these days are prescribing for people who lives in a tropical country. But most especially, it is safe for children and pregnant women, fuss-free, effective, paraben-free and water-resistant.
Application: The fine mist leaves a light and soothing feel with no white residues, thank goodness! One of the things I hate whenever I use a sunscreen is the white residue that it leaves on my new bikini and shorts. I don’t mind it on the skin but when the sunscreen’s white residue sticks to your clothes, especially those that are “water resistant” it leaves a permanent stain. But this product doesn’t so it’s a plus for me.
I shake it well and spray it at least 15-20 minutes before I go out in any direction because it doesn’t matter, the mist sticks to the skin and gets absorb easily. It’s a bit sticky, but not that sticky. You can still use your hand to help it spread more thoroughly on your skin.
Packaging: Flawless Skin Protect Mist is packaged in a metal canister like those deo-spray. So you don’t have to worry about it spilling in your bag, unlike those sunscreen lotions. The plastic cap is just fine, tight enough so you will not loose it easily. The spray pump performs really well too and does a great job controlling the amount product being dispensed. Overall, this is the most feminine sunscreen I’ve ever seen. Most sunscreens are packaged in white, brown and even blue but this is the first time, at least in the Philippines, that are packaged in pink.
Smell: Using this sunscreen is like you’re also wearing a perfume, whenever I spray it I smell sandalwood with some roses.
Pros: No white residue, high SPF, water resistant, light weight and great packaging.
Cons: Since it was labeled a “mist” I first thought it was for the face but it isn’t. It’s not recommended to use on your face.
Conclusion: Flawless Skin Protect Mist is everything you want and need in a sunscreen. No white residue stains that look awkward in shorts (you know what I mean), it has high SPF, lightweight spray yet water resistant, and no need to worry if it will spill in your bag —perfect for the person on the go.
