L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing & Contour Kit Review

l'oreal infallible total cover concealing & contour kit review

L’Oreal Philippines sent me a Total Cover Kit which contains products that will be launching soon in the Philippines. I was contemplating if I will write a review about the whole set in one post but then I remember people hate posts that are too long, I know because I do! And so I decided to divide it into four parts, starting with this L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing & Contour Kit review and will end with a simple makeup tutorial for a day to night look using all the Total Cover Kit I received.

But before you scroll down, I must warn you, I’m new to contouring. I only started doing it myself just last month. But I did my best to learn about it whenever my makeup artist friend does it on my face. Also, we all have different face shapes which means we have different ways of contouring. Here’s a guide from YouTuber Tina Young.

WHAT IS IT?

L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing & Contour Kit contains four pigmented shades that promise to easily conceal and define like an expert. The 4 pigment-rich creamy shades of this contouring kit can be used individually or combined to create your custom match.

PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: For concealing, apply the relevant color on the targeted areas of the face, then blend using the foam provided in the kit or your preferred brush or beauty blender. Then follow it with contouring. And so, for contouring, apply the light shade to the higher parts of the face and a darker shade to the lower part of the face, then blend well and end with setting powder or spray.

SCENT: It’s unscented but there’s the familiar generic makeup smell.

PACKAGING: It is packaged in a sleek black plastic case which kinda feels heavy and expensive, unlike other affordable palettes that are packaged in thick carton cases that become sluggish or tears apart in time. The kit also comes with a small foam for blending.

TEXTURE: The four shades are highly-pigment and creamy so I highly suggest applying this using your fingers or a tiny beauty blender. But on blending it you can use whatever you prefer, brush or foam. Why? It’s easier that way, because of the formula dipping your brush into the cream is not ideal. The application will not be smooth.

RESULT: The creamy formula of the shades are really easy to blend and it melds well on to the skin too. Besides highlighting and contouring, it does a decent job of concealing my blemishes too and it stays a decent amount of time as well even in the humid weather of the Philippines. But I still suggest using a setting spray afterward especially if you’re going to be in long events like a wedding.

VERDICT

PROS: Highly-pigmented, easy to blend, stays a good few hours, lightweight, natural looking, affordable yet a good quality makeup, and good for travel.

CONS: The pots are too small as a concealer and contouring product, I wish they’ll make this in a bigger size. If you’re used to contouring then you know this is something we apply a lot all-over our face a lot and, it’s kinda hard to explain if you don’t do contour makeup, but when we contour we tend to “double dip” on the pots until we got the right amount of product to our face, and this kit is too small for that.

WHERE TO BUY?

If you live in the Philippines, you can buy L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover Concealing & Contour Kit in SM Department’s beauty section for Php600 and also in Lazada for the same price. But if you live in the US, you can buy this in Ulta for $16.99.
