I never used a face oil before for reason that I have an oily skin and I thought if I use such a product it will worsen the oiliness of my skin. Turns out, it depends on the face oil you will purchase. But does this one suits my oily skin? Keep reading this Always Sunday Rose Quartz Elixir Face Oil review to know more!
But first, what is the Always Sunday brand? I already featured this brand when I reviewed their Minty Matcha Clarifying Face Mist, but for those who forget it or didn’t have a chance to read it, Always Sunday is a Filipino brand that sells cruelty-free and vegan skincare products with minimalist yet chic packaging.
WHAT IS IT?
Always Sunday Rose Quartz Elixir Face Oil contains organic rosehip seed essential oil which is packed with vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids (linolenic and oleic acids) that are known to correct dark spots and hydrate dry, itchy skin, all while reducing scars and fine lines.
This is also infused with rose quartz crystal, claimed to be charged by the moonlight and with positive intentions. The pretty rose quartz is a gemstone that inspires love, peace, and well-being. It carries an energy of healing, nourishment, and comfort.
Ingredients: jojoba oil, rosehip seed essential oil, grapeseed essential oil, almond oil
Healing stone: rose quartz
APPLICATION: Drop an adequate amount on your hand or directly on to your face (personally, I use 2 drops only) and smear the Rose Quartz Crystal Elixir on your face to seal the moisture.
SCENT: It’s unscented but it has that generic oil smell.
PACKAGING: It is simply packaged in a brown glass bottle with a sturdy pipette.
RESULT: I was really hesitant to buy this face oil because I’ve never used one before and I have oily skin as well. But since the claims of this product fits what I need, plus one reviewer from the site said it wasn’t oily as she thought it would be, so I took a leap of faith. And I’m glad I did, I wake up with a plump skin when I use this at night. I see my skin improving as well, but not that much, this works slower than my other serums like Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop. But at least it’s not really as oily as I thought. But my limit is two drops, more than that, I kinda look shiny. I also found out that this product works best with Always Sunday Minty Matchy Clarifying Mist because they’re both organic products that work to make your skin free of bleamishes.
The only thing I cannot prove is the improvement of fine lines because I don’t have it yet. And I also don’t believe in the so-called “power of gemstones” so whatever claims a stone could bring, I just don’t believe it. Nothing against it. We all have different beliefs anyway.
PROS: Not that oily so those with oily skin type can actually use this. It improves the skin tone like the appearance of dark spots and acne scars. They claim that it also works on fine lines but I can’t prove that yet. Lastly, this is a cruelty-free and vegan product.
CONS: Don’t expect for this to work fast like a serum.
