How to Stick to Your New Year Resolutions? (For Real)

It’s that time again for “New Year, New Me” bulls***s. I’m not pessimistic or something, but I’m really tired of hearing that phrase every single new year. Then in the following year, I’ll hear the same freakin’ resolutions again from the same people. Let me ask you this, aren’t you tired? If you really want to have a new you then read my three tips on how to stick to your new year resolutions.

Be Realistic & Do It One Step At A Time

As I was saying, please, enough with that ‘’new year, new me’’. You won’t be able to change everything about yourself in only a year, that’s the harsh truth, and that’s perfectly alright. Change takes time, so make sure your resolutions are realistic and do it one step at a time. For example, if you want a stylish New Look and a healthy lifestyle, well do it one at a time. Like start from a new hairstyle, then shop for new clothes that you don’t usually wear before for a stylish new look.

Then for a healthy lifestyle, for example, you want to be vegan, start by doing it once a week. Like only eat vegan food on Wednesdays, then make it twice a week next month. Just add a day every month until you’re used to the lifestyle. Don’t try to make it all happen in a short period of time. Creating a new habit or changing something takes a lot of energy, that’s why it will be easier to focus on one resolution at a time.

Write it down

Write your resolutions on paper and place it somewhere visible for you every day. You can also make it attractive and creative so it can double as your wall art, or even as temporary tattoos! It will be a reminder of your goals and it will help you keep track of what you want to achieve and improve.

Do It With Someone

Change has to start with you, but remember that goals cannot be achieved alone. You will always need someone to support or guide you or both. If you happen to have a friend who has the same goal, work on it together. It will help motivate you and make it less difficult.
