We all know that the industry of watches right now are quite obsess on developing the next best smart watch, tech companies are either collaborating or hiring people in the fashion industry just to be ahead of the game. But honestly, I don’t see the purpose of owning a smartwatch yet. I understand that it can be useful for active people who exercise around 4 times a week, but other than that, I don’t really see the point yet. I may sound like your grandma talking but seriously, nothing still beats the beauty and simplicity of a classic quartz wrist watch especially if it is adorned with beautiful case and strap like Jord Watches.
JORD is a Swedish word which means earth, soil or land and it is also the name of this amazing brand of wooden watches. According to their website these JORD watches, “are designed to take people back to nature and away from today’s metal & rubber. We want to challenge the norm by making unique time pieces as a focal point for everyday fashion.”
Their wood watches are handcrafted from sustainable materials from all over the world, and the natural colors and patterns of the wood makes each JORD watches truly unique. How do I know that? Well, I am a proud owner.
I’m a kind of person who couldn’t leave her house if she’s not wearing a watch. Yes, I could leave my house without my phone, makeup, keys and even my wallet but I couldn’t leave without wearing a watch. I don’t know why but I’m uneasy without wearing one. That is why I’m so glad my Ely wood watch from JORD fit almost all of the requirements of my ideal watch.
Its design and color is so versatile I could pair it with a lot of other accessories and with majority of my clothes from casual to semi-formal. It has a simple design but the unique pattern of the wood makes it very elegant. Although, its lock is quite tricky at first, but you can learn its closing technique in time so it isn’t much an issue for me. Lastly, it’s lightweight. It’s so light sometimes I feel like I’m not wearing a watch. A refreshing feeling from someone who has been wearing metal-strap watches all her life.
JORD watches may not tell you your heart rate after your morning jog, or if you have a new email or Facebook notification, but it does tells more than time. It tells you to look at the beauty in the simplest things and in nature from the color and patterns of its wooden watches.
Thank you JORD Wood Watch Company, especially to Paul Saitta for sending me this beautiful watch. Also stay tuned for my next post because I’m giving away a JORD watch just like this one I featured!
