“Life gives you an opportunity to crystallize your dreams right in front of you. And so, every day I lay the fragments of my imagination out on my desk.”
I’m sure most of you spends a lot of time scrolling Instagram and blogs admiring countless fashion photography and OOTDs (admit it!) I’m not blaming you if you procrastinate on them, they are quite addicting and somewhat inspiring. Cissy Zhang of I Dream of Bunnies is worth visiting for a source of fashion inspiration. I’m sure, just like me, you’ll be in awe after seeing her imaginative and divine outfit posts. Seriously, have you seen any other blogger perfectly did an outfit post underwater? If you answered no, then you better get to know her! That is why I reached out to Cissy and asked about her passions, inspirations, ultimate showpieces and more.
Her Fashion Story
“I am from the lively city of Sydney. Sydney is very versatile with many different people all with different personalities and styles. Since I started my blog, I have explored a lot of Sydney and found great locations to shoot. I have done blog shoots in a lotus pond in the Botanical Gardens and in the vast sand dunes at Cronulla Beach. There is so much versatility in this city.
Every day I dream of fields of flowers, colorful fabrics, sheer couture dresses and bunny rabbits hopping around. Life gives you an opportunity to crystallize your dreams right in front of you. And so, every day I lay the fragments of my imagination out on my desk. I plan my new fashion shoots while my two little bunnies (Popcorn and Bugsy) hop around my room of colorful fabrics and gowns. They do nibble on my shoes and dresses sometimes. So I got my blog name from the fact that I actually dream of bunnies all the time.
I collaborate with many different fashion photographers. I gather inspiration from all around me. Fashion can be beautiful, gentle, daring, fierce, [and] controversial. I try and capture a mood in every fashion shoot.
One day I decided that instead of looking and dreaming I would start creating my own.
My blog in 5 words: imagination, divine, dreams, stories and bunnies.
My passion is styling and creative directing of fashion shoots. I have always loved looking at editorial spreads in Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. One day I decided that instead of looking and dreaming I would start creating my own.
I will often break some of the [fashion] rules…
I love dramatic high fashion designs and couture garments. I love all the couture runways and get a lot of inspiration for my blog shoots there. Whenever I can find an excuse, I will wear something very dramatic and eye catching.
I will often break some of the [fashion] rules and wear clashing colors or double denim. Rules were made to be broken I guess. One rule I wouldn’t break is wearing too little. I think every outfit needs a bit of class.
As long as you feel confident, you look confident. You can pull anything off if you try.
I love finding unique pieces everywhere. Some of my favourite places with very unique designs are Zimmerman, Doris Q and Bei Na Wei. I skimp on basics like t-shirts and socks (which is quite silly as I need a lot of these!). And I splurge on crazy pieces that I would only wear once in my life.
I have a gorgeous white mesh maxi dress from Sass & Bide. It is perfectly delightful, with a peplum fit and mesh all the way to the floor. [And] I am always buying bunny ears. So I will be on the lookout to add to my ever growing collection.
As long as you feel confident, you look confident. You can pull anything off if you try.”
