Fashion is unpredictable. We all know that, but there are times we forget that. Going to two different fashion schools and an avid fashion week follower (not only in New York, Milan, London and Paris) I saw so many quirky trends that sometimes I couldn’t imagine there was anything else out there. But the emergence of the palm cuff totally surprised me… in a good way!
So what is a palm cuff?
A palm cuff is exactly what it sounds like – a cuff that is worn around the palm rather than the wrist. It’s simple yet makes a statement, and is surprisingly wearable.
Trendsetting celebs have been wearing the palm cuff as an audacious way to shake up their jewelry game on the red carpet. Since then, designers have been slowly picking up on the trend. Some are cutting-edge with studs or bold designs, others are bling-centered, and some are downright glamorous with diamonds and jewels.

Personally, compared to midi rings, I don’t think this trend has a serious staying power. Don’t get me wrong, these cuffs are gorgeous but so does last year’s ear cuffs, remember? They are still around but barely hanging on the trend-wagon. For sure these palm cuffs will pop out in some red carpet appearances of fashion-forward celebs and street style stars but it does not have the potential to become “common jewelry”… just saying.
