What to Wear to Make Pantsuit Look Feminine?

Some famous woman once said, I forgot who but I think it’s Cher, that “it’s so good to be a woman because we can wear men’s clothes and look good in it” while men, unless he is Scottish or his name is Jared Leto, skirts doesn’t really look good on them. Women first wore pantsuits in the 60’s when Yves Saint Laurent created “Le Smoking” which was inspired by a men’s tuxedo, back then it was revolutionary but now it’s not a surprise when you see a women in it especially if she’s a lawyer or a business woman. Which brings me to my next point, a pantsuit can be intimidating, and perhaps a bit masculine at times, but here are some ways to help you look more feminine the next time you put on that trouser and jacket combo.

Wear chic Kookie Sunglasses like Cat Eyes Sunnies

Who Wore It Better?

Sorry, I can’t resist. I could easily crop out Andrew Garfield in here but this couple and The Amazing Spider Man 2 co-stars look so cute together in coordinated, menswear-inspired outfits. Though I suspect that Garfield doesn’t mind losing a sartorial battle to his girlfriend. Andrew wore a two-tone Canadian tuxedo with a brown blazer, while Stone sported a seriously sharp suit from the Saint Laurent fall ’14 runway. She made the look feminine with black, pointy-toed pumps and Oliver Peoples cat eye shades that nearly matched her hair.

Of course, Garfield looks great, too, but there’s no argument as to whose menswear reigned supreme. But it’s impossible to beat Emma’s pinstripes, checks, and a perfectly oversized jacket over stovepipe trousers. Sorry, Andrew — all’s fair in love and tailoring.

Wear a Crop Top

Be effortlessly cool and feminine chic in your pantsuit by opting a crop top instead of the usual choice like blouse or shirt. Get inspired at Lorde’s look at the 29th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Brooklyn, honoring Nirvana, the 17-year-old pop star wore a bubblegum-pink variation of her usual power suit, paired with her crop top of choice — a sports bra.

Wear Red Lipstick

For a night out, get inspiration from Cara Delevingne’s look and go for a tailored pantsuit styled with a loosely unbutton blouse and red lip. Only women can look more sexy in a suit than Barney Stinson 😉

Wear Girly T-Strap

Drape Your Jacket Over Your Shoulders

For a posh power-woman vibe, you don’t have to wear any key pieces like Miroslava Duma, just drape your jacket over your shoulders.

Wear A Pretty Color

When in doubt, try a polished and pretty colored pantsuit.

Avoid a boxy look in your pantsuit by adding a belt to cinch your waist and flaunt your girly figure.

These are very useful tips! I just bought a pantsuit to wear for my birthday. I was thinking of pairing it with an elegant updo and red lips. I’m so excited to wear this look.
