With all these peacocking happening in the fashion industry especially during the fashion month (I blame the rise of the street style photographers and so called “street style look” which is no longer genuinely “street style” anymore in my opinion), it is refreshing to see someone donning a minimalist look, seriously. Some say minimalist is from the 90’s style of the Americans but base on my fashion history research it is actually from the French. Remember Le Smoking? It is the classic look -a tuxedo for women with a large bow- that Yves Saint Laurent introduced back in the 60′s, which was so revolutionary at that time and was revived by Hedi Slimane on his debut collection for the house back in 2012. It is also the number one tip I mentioned when I gave tips on how to dress like a French girl. Speaking of it, my style crush of the week Clemence Poesy is the epitome of French style. Her front low look at the Stella McCartney F/W 2014 show, a button up white shirt top with an oversize blazer paired with black jeans and trendy jewelry, was very minimalist yet so effortlessly chic.

Just in case you don’t know her, Clemence Poesy is a French actress and fashion model who is known for her movie role as Fleur Delacour in the Harry Potter film series but she is popularly known to my fellow Gossip Girl fans as Eva Coupeau, Chuck Bass’s new French girlfriend in the fourth season who gave Blair Waldorf a real competition on Chuck Bass’s heart. Well, you might remember her with a long blonde hair but when she showed up at the Stella McCartney show she was donning a gorgeous new bob, styled a la Kate Moss messy hair.
